So, when pellet berries came out, I just knew that BeBe and Evee had to try them. I mean, really, it was a no-brainer. Board Certified Avian vets recommend a higher proportion of your bird’s diet to be pellets, and BeBe and Evee LOVE nutri-berries, so I knew we couldn’t go wrong introducing these to them. Here’s is a great description I found of Nutri-Berries on the Lafeber website:
“Minimum waste. Maximum nutrition. Nutri-Berries are different. They're made with savory peanuts, hulled canary seed, cracked corn and other tempting ingredients. They're colorful, richly textured and invitingly shaped. It's a difference your bird can see, taste and touch. Nutri-Berries. Everything we know, everything your bird knows about eating right - all rolled into one.Nutritionally Balanced, Great Foraging Food, Omega 3 & 6 Balanced, & Naturally Preserved.
”Here’s what they have to say about Pellet Berries:
“Pellet-Berries solve pellet boredom. Pellet-Berries are an exciting result of combining the science of pellets with natural enrichment. By mixing cranberries, dates, apricots, and natural grains that your bird can individually taste, feel, and see, with a pelleted food, a delicious and wholesome meal is created that nearly all pelleted foods are missing. No longer does your bird needs to eat fruits and grains that all taste the same and have the same texture because they have all been ground together.81% pellets, 19% individual fruits and grains.
Now, for the best review you can get. A review from BeBe and Evee themselves, complete with a couple of pictures!
Pellet Berry on the left and Regular Nutri-berry on the right
When I opened the container, it smelled so good. The Lafeber products we get at my warehouse are the freshest you’ll find (GUARANTEED!). The berries practically crumbled in my fingers because of their freshness. You can see the fruits in them, and I even made a recommendation to my vet to recommend to Lafeber that they come out with a veggie version!
Evee is not camera shy! 2 pictures in this article of Evee since BeBe WAS camera shy!
As soon as I let Evee on the bucket, he went at them. He loved them! In fact, I don’t crumble these for the boys like I do with the Nutri-berries. I just supplement their diet with a Nutri-Berry and a Pellet berry daily instead of 2 regular nutri-berries. BeBe will tear at them in his regular food bowl and I use them in their foraging bowls/toys.
Hey Mom! These are great!
So, do they recommend these? Yep, they sure do. You really can’t go wrong in diet, desire, and love! 2 thumbs, er, I mean feathers up!
